Conversion of Green Silica from Corn Leaf into Zeolites Na A-X

Combustion of corn leaf as a model biomass from agricultural waste is simple way to obtain the energy. It produces low-value by-product ash and rich in silica that can become precursor for zeolite production. In this study, acid-treated leaves combustion was performed produce high purity (SiO2). The diffraction pattern suggested extracted amorphous without impurities phase. Additionally, nitrogen isotherm indicated material highly mesoporous with total surface area 200 m2/g. hydrothermal method then applied composition molar ratio 1.25SiO2:1Al2O3:5Na2O:250H2O synthesize zeolites silica. temperature time effect on zeolite’s synthesis investigated. shows crystalline Na A-X produced at temperatures 100°C 8 h time. According physisorption analysis, consisted micropores 270 morphology cube Na-A octahedral Na-X. affected formed. This research could be valorized through conversion into economic value zeolites.
